The Cheap Skaterz™ started in the early 2000s as a small world built by ChrisC — seven characters with scraped-together attitudes who proved that greatness comes from imagination and heart, not wealth. The world went quiet. The ideas stayed on the shelf.
Dirk Poor, Penny Pincher, Spare Chang, Omar Money, Owen Ustuph, Pam Handler, and Al Fluent were the original intention: kids and their rivals who build a skate park from the broken boards nobody wanted. They were sketched, named, encouraged, and imagined by more than one person.
The catalyst.
The project was created before Kyler's passing. After Kyler's death in 2024, Chris chose to revive the work — as a continuation of what they had imagined together, and as a way to keep his story alive through something he had already encouraged.
Kyler contributed names, ideas, and encouragement to the project. That contribution is part of the foundation. The work now exists so his encouragement and imagination have a shape other people can hold.
What the work is now.
The universe is being revived with care: artwork only becomes final when Chris personally approves it; mechanics ship after playtesting, not before; and the seven stay together as one world, the way they were imagined.
The Original Seven already exist as professionally developed 3D characters and physical prototype figures, providing the foundation for future collectibles, publishing, animation, licensing, and other entertainment projects.
